The Role·The Illuminating Marketing Team

What a Brand Ambassador at Illuminating Marketing actually does (hour by hour)

If you’re researching us before applying, this is probably your biggest question: what would I actually be doing all day? Fair. Here’s the honest answer.

The morning: coaching first

Every day starts with the team together in the office. This isn’t a stand-around meeting — it’s a working session. We run through sales fundamentals, practice conversations, set goals for the day and workshop whatever tripped people up yesterday. If you’re new, this is where you learn fastest: you’re practicing with people who were in your shoes a few months ago.

No experience is needed to start because this coaching happens every day, not just in week one.

The day: real conversations

Depending on the campaign, you’ll be at an event, in a residential neighborhood, or meeting businesses:

  • Events — pop-ups, venues and community events. High energy, lots of people, fast conversations.
  • Residential — neighborhood campaigns, talking with homeowners on their doorstep about brands we represent.
  • B2B — walking into businesses and speaking with decision-makers directly.

The common thread: you’re the friendly face of a brand, having genuine conversations. Some people say yes, plenty say no, and you learn quickly that neither is personal.

The evening: numbers and next steps

Back at the office (or on the ride back), you’ll debrief: what worked, what didn’t, what to try tomorrow. Your results are your own — which means your progress is your own too. Promotion here is based on what you do, not how long you’ve been around.

What you’re really building

The skills compound fast: relationship building, communication, resilience, time management, goal planning, active listening. Those transfer to literally any career — but most people who thrive here stay, because the next step (Team Coach, then Assistant Manager, then running your own market — like our founder did) is always visible.
